One of my favorite pieces to pull out when the temperature spikes to 85° are my beloved, worn-in high-waist shorts from Urban Outfitters. They have a relaxed fit and go well with crop tops, soft tees and even a crisp, white button-down.
This summer look is ideal for a weekend afternoon spent browsing shops and stopping to ponder at the fruits and vegetables at the farmer’s market. I would even wear this to a laid-back concert. The combination of the jean shorts, half-tucked white shirt and the snakeskin mules really creates a fun, bohemian vibe.
OOTD: Crisp button-down and summer shorts
Outfit details: Cloth & Stone button-down – Anthropologie, High-waist shorts – Urban Outfitters, maroon fedora & sunglasses – Hattiesburg boutique, Choker – Cabi spring 2016 collection, lariat necklace – World Market, Statement heels – Very Volatile, Saddle bag – Free People
I love the side button details on this button-down from Anthropologie. There are three buttons, so you can adjust whether you want to wear it long or short. Here, I un-did all of them and did a half-tuck into my shorts. I think it adds some playfulness and “disheveled chic” to the outfit.
Lately, I’ve also been donning flowy dresses with soft fabrics, straw hats and slip-on sandals for minimal summer style. What are your summer style staples?
