How to wear statement necklaces part one

statementnecklacepartOne

Hey everyone! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. I went home to Florida this weekend for my brother’s engagement party, football, delicious food and of course, taking pictures for the blog! I wrote a prelude for this post called the four statement necklaces every woman should own. Now I’m excited to show everyone how to wear these bold chains whether you are at the office, going on a date or just having lunch with your best buds.

When it comes to one brave piece, creating outfits is effortless and the options are pretty much endless. I’ve put together eight looks with four statement necklaces so you can get an idea on how to wear these with your favorite fall items!

First up—the bold pendant necklace. This is my dearest type of statement piece because it’s a necklace that just moves with you and it looks chic with everything you wear! You can’t go wrong. My mom surprised me with this Cabi necklace this summer and I am obsessed with the warm stone colors and brushed cold chain. I wear this necklace about two or three times a week, so it’s a go-to accessory for me.

LOOK No. 1: Casual >> Think of a pendant necklace as an extra layering piece during the fall. I wore fitted brown riding pants and a sweater with a blouse attached under it to create that layer effect. Throw on some ankle boots to finish off the look.

  • Chocolate brown leggings | Cabi
  • Pendant necklace | Cabi
  • Ankle boots | Bocage Paris

LOOK No. 2: Date night >> Hello good vibes! I decided to add a bohemian touch to this outfit with the maroon hat and flowy swing dress. This comfortable look could take you from day to night, but it gives off an easy, cool vibe that says, “Let’s have a great a time, no stress. Just order me a glass of wine. Life is good.”

This outfit was definitely inspired by the nightlife of Paris and les Parisiennes—their style is impeccable. I also love a head-to-toe black ensemble with pops of color. In this case, less is so, so much more.

Next—the eclectic statement necklace. Yes, the conversation piece! The common reaction: “Oh my gosh, where did you get that?”

When I saw this in a local Ann Taylor Loft store, I was pleasantly surprised. If you know Loft’s type of clothing and accessories, it’s very classic, chic and ready-to-wear. So when I took a closer look at the tri-colored rope and metal and gem accents, I knew it was an unbelievable find. And I was right. This necklace goes with just about anything solid-colored in my closet, whether it be black, olive or even light blue.

LOOK No. 1—Casual

Oversize sweaters are always a fall staple for me and they are so comfy for those lazy days or times when you don’t feel putting yourself together so the sweater does it magically for you. I slipped on this sweater, the necklace and a pair of ankle boots—and voila! The cutest combination.

LOOK No. 2—At the office

Even though I love a relaxed look for running errands and getting a bite to eat with friends, I also adore dressing up for work! I paired the same necklace with a structured sleeveless top, straight ankle pants and black pumps. A long structured top with straight fitted pants are really flattering on a curvy figure. It actually elongates you.
