How to wear a duster cardigan for spring

dustercardigangraphic

It finally feels like spring in South Mississippi and I’ve been pulling out my most beloved springtime pieces! I came across this white duster cardigan at Fetiche, one of my favorite boutiques in Hattiesburg, and after I slipped it on, I was in love. I had to add this unique piece to my wardrobe ASAP!

When I do shop, I am very selective about what I buy and how those pieces can contribute to my current wardrobe. So this purchase, to some, might seem impulsive because it is trendy. But I was pleasantly surprised! After I brought it home and mix-and-matched it with other pieces, it actually enhancedΒ some of my looks even more. The pictures don’t even do the cardigan justice with its soft, chiffon-like material, collar and button details and the long slits that cascade down the sides. Can you tell I’m obsessed?
Here are two ways I styled this white cardigan, and hopefully it inspires you to add a one-of-a-kind piece to your closet!

Style tip No. 1:

Pair it with colored jeans and a printed top. When I first tried this cardigan on, I had a vision of me wearing jeans with it. The look is unexpected, and the addition of white tones down the bright pastels. I would wear this to a lunch with friends or a relaxing day just strolling around in downtown Pensacola or Fairhope.

Style tip No. 2:

Dress up a chiffon slip dress with this beautiful piece, and let your summer wedges peek under! This boho cardigan transforms this simple spring night-out look and brings a touch of edginess. I also love pairing this long cardigan with a maxi dress!

Oooohhhh, I love it both ways but I think my favorite is with the dress! I may have to add one to my wardrobe, too!

Love your shoes! I don’t own a duster cardi myself, but this is seriously making me think of getting one.

I had no idea what a duster cardigan was, but it looks so cute and I love the way you styled it! I love layers, but being from the south too, you’ve gotta get creative with stuff like this πŸ™‚

Thank you Autumn! It’s basically just a long cardigan, but with a fancier name! haha. And exactly, you never know what the weather is going to be like in Mississippi!
