How to style gold jeans

If any piece in your closet is the epitome of the “art of dressing up,” it’s the colored jean. It’s a warm color on an artist’s palette that is just waiting to be paired with other eye-catching hues.Colored jeans, whether they are red, gold, gray or patterned, are a splendid way to make your fall wardrobe shine.

They can be dressed up or down and take you to a football game or a leisurely lunch with friends. It’s also a chance for you to wear color combinations that may be a little out of your comfort zone.

So have you pulled out your colored jeans yet this season? Or are they mindlessly collecting dust with last season’s sweaters? Well, whoever said colored skinny jeans are so last year are well—just plain silly. I wear them year-round!

The gold jeans I’m adorning here are none other than—yep, you guessed it—Cabi jeans (fall 2013 collection)! I’ve had them for two years and they are still in great shape and have a worn, gold hue. So take a peek at the three casual looks I styled with these gold jeans >>

Be different with denim. Pair these with a classic chambray button down. This shirt is definitely a fall staple in my wardrobe and I’m a fan of denim-on-denim looks, especially when there’s a chance to mix colors. I cuffed the sleeves for a super casual look and threw on a dark scarf to kick up the contrast.

The look:

  • Denim shirt | Cabi
  • Scarf | Hand-me-down from my mother!
  • Ankle boots | Anthropologie

Play it up with a printed shirt.

As much as I love a sleek, classic look, I am also a lover of bold prints with an array of colors. This bohemian-inspired shirt paired with these jeans is an interesting way to marry fall colors.

The look:

  • Printed shirt | Fetiche in Hattiesburg
  • Watch | Kate Spade
  • Ankle boots | Bocage Paris

Snuggle up with a chunky sweater.

Olive + gold = ideal contrast! I love wearing an oversize sweater with a fitted jean that creates an effortless, chic look. Truth be told, this is the only shirt and/or sweater I have that has cut-out sleeves. I’m usually not too crazy about them, but I fell in love with this sweater!
