I’ve always been a sucker for bath products. Face masks, sugar scrubs, bath salts, you name it, I probably have it stored somewhere in my bathroom. But that’s the problem with guilty pleasures. I often buy too much of them, when I could be DIYing my own!
I made two sugar scrubs this week, and I’m probably never going back to store-bought ones. They are that easy to make, especially with my doTERRA essential oils. And what’s even better? I stored them in these beautiful, sturdy Infinity Jars!
I received a few free Infinity Jars in exchange for writing a review on my blog! And I must say, they are pretty wonderful and can be used in so many ways.
Infinity Jars are dubbed “the world’s best glass jars.” They are lightweight with an airtight seal and they preserve and rejuvenate freshness. They can even preserve a product for up to six months! While I decided to store my bath products in some, I also plan to use others to store food, herbs and olive oil. It’s hard to find jars with a long lifespan, but Infinity Jars are a keeper.
DIY Sweet Orange Sugar Scrub
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 7-8 drops of orange essential oils
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl & voila! Your own homemade body scrub. I stored mine in the 500 ML glass screw top wide mouth jar. And this jar makes for the perfect travel size companion.
*Always remember to use 80 percent sugar and 20 percent oil. You can also substitute for almond or coconut oil.
DIY Homemade Lip Scrub
- 4 tsp brown sugar
- 3 tsp coconut oil
- 3 tsp honey
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
- 2 drops wild orange essential oil
Mix ingredients together. Easy as pie! I stored this lip scrub in the 15 ML pocket-size glass jar, which is an ideal size for something I’ll always store in my purse. My lips are often dry, so this is a great scrub to moisturize with throughout the day.
Whether they are clear or a solid color, I love to store unexpected things in apothecary jars such as bath salts. The ones pictured here are lavender bath salts I bought from CVS. I also stored the leftover sweet orange sugar scrub in the 500 ML glass screw top jar!
I used the sugar scrub and lip scrub to for two days and had great results. The sugar scrub made my skin so soft and the same goes for the lip scrub. I forgot chapstick even existed! So get together some of your kitchen staples and DIY your own bath pamper products!
