Long time no see, everyone! Life’s crazy with work, busy weekends traveling and adjusting to a new routine.
One of the biggest obstacles is figuring out a new workout routine. Recently, I find myself on the couch more than in the gym or outside getting some good ole Vitamin C. Not a good sign! For a month or so, I paid $30 to try a hot yoga studio near my job. I absolutely loved it. But on most nights, I got home late after work and had zero time to do anything. Yoga studios are also pricey, so I had to find an alternative that would work with my monthly budget.
After a long day of work, my yoga mat is my best friend. I come to the mat for various reasons, but a big one is to relieve stress and quiet my mind after a hectic day.
Since I have a backward schedule for work (I work 2-10 p.m. Monday through Friday), I usually do yoga in the morning. But if I’m feeling really tense after work, I’ll do a few poses to calm anxiety and stress. I’ve been practicing yoga regularly for over a year now, and it’s helped be more aware of my body and how it is feeling at all times. I’m mindful of which poses will help me release tension in areas that need it most.
We all have those everyday purse essentials that we carry religiously to the grocery store, the office and our weekend travels. Over time, I have carried different items in my purse. But since I have entered the working world, I have finally put together a list of items that are practical for my everyday use when I’m on the go. For work, I’ll usually carry a tote like this one pictured here or a more structured work bag like my favorite spring Banana Republic leather tote. My bag is usually pretty packed when I’m on my way to work because I’ll throw in a few extra things like my computer charger, a water bottle and a book.
Here are the essentials and odds and ends one can find in stowed in my everyday bag!
This is my last week of my money diaries series! And while I must say this experience has been eye-opening for me, tracking every cent every single day can be tiresome. But it has made me more aware of where my money is going.
If you are just beginning this series, make sure to catch up on parts one, two and three.
“Oh, you know, the usual. Just busy, busy, busy with life.”
How many of us have heard that line? Way too much. But have you ever stopped to think that maybe it shouldn’t be that way? That maybe the status quo isn’t what God wants for us, and in fact, he may have something better in store for us.
