Being a girl is hard sometimes, and it also can be expensive. (Guys, you better appreciate us when we look good on date night!) If you’re like me, the last thing I want to spend my hard-earned money on is expensive makeup and beauty products. I want the quality, but don’t want to have to shell out the cash. Luckily, I stumbled on a few online articles that trumped the myth that expensive makeup is always better quality.
Thursday is the first day of fall, and I’ve been ready for it since last week! I couldn’t resist the adorable autumn hand towels and the fall scented candles in Target. The leaves are starting to change color, and even though it’s still hot in Mississippi, I can feel the cool air coming! September is a weird month here. I’m over wearing shorts and sundresses but it’s still too warm to wear sweaters and boots. Time to pull out the transition pieces.
During the past few weeks, I’ve been writing down some items that have really caught my eye for fall. I want a few things that will really spice up my wardrobe for the season ahead.
Even though the sun still chooses to beat down on us in the South, I’m embracing fall pieces that are transitional. You can’t go wrong with a classic army green utility vest for those months in between summer and fall. In fact, I’m so ready for colder weather that I’m already embracing autumn colors, wearing boots and sipping on warm lattes. This 90-degree heat isn’t going to hold me back, ya’ll.
Utility vests are an essential layering piece when the weather turns cold. But for the time being (for us southerners), it’s an item that can really jazz up any outfit! I received this utility vest, named the Explorer Vest, from Cabi’s spring 2016 collection.
I’ve always been a sucker for bath products. Face masks, sugar scrubs, bath salts, you name it, I probably have it stored somewhere in my bathroom. But that’s the problem with guilty pleasures. I often buy too much of them, when I could be DIYing my own!
I made two sugar scrubs this week, and I’m probably never going back to store-bought ones. They are that easy to make, especially with my doTERRA essential oils. And what’s even better? I stored them in these beautiful, sturdy Infinity Jars!
