Who’s ready for spring? To me, February has always been an odd month! I’m still trying to hold on to those resolutions I made in January, the weather is strange & I find myself wanting to wear bright colors and sandals all the time. My body is craving warm weather & sun. (I swear I’m Vitamin D deficient, sometimes!) When everything feels just a little out of whack, the one thing I can count on in my closet are transitional pieces. The tried & true, never-let-me-down kind of clothes.
Hello friends! After a 3-month hiatus from the blog, I’m back! At the end of September, I realized I really needed to focus on my job, and spend some time reflecting on where I wanted to take the blog.
But since it’s a new year (2018!), it’s time to began again. I still have a crazy passion about the one thing I’m always trying to obtain: everyday balance. Not feeling rushed. Slowing down and enjoying every day life. Appreciating life’s simple pleasures like cooking a delicious, healthy meal and going to a yoga class to ease my mind. Feeling content where I am at this moment and time and not always worrying what will happen next.
October is just around the corner, and it’s hot as you-know-what in Baton Rouge! I thought this chic look would still be appropriate for the early fall weather here. I’m dreaming of scarves and boots, but instead I’m wearing a chunky cardigan to work, and then tying it around my waist as I leave for my lunch break to go buy a pumpkin spice latte. And yeah, I’m sweating. *sigh* Oh well, fall will come soon enough! A girl can dream.
Long time no see, everyone! Life’s crazy with work, busy weekends traveling and adjusting to a new routine.
One of the biggest obstacles is figuring out a new workout routine. Recently, I find myself on the couch more than in the gym or outside getting some good ole Vitamin C. Not a good sign! For a month or so, I paid $30 to try a hot yoga studio near my job. I absolutely loved it. But on most nights, I got home late after work and had zero time to do anything. Yoga studios are also pricey, so I had to find an alternative that would work with my monthly budget.
Let’s face it: Moving to a new city and starting a new job is not easy! Although there is a lot of excitement and joy in the midst of the process, starting a new chapter in your life can be overwhelming. I think that’s why it’s so important to jump into a new routine as soon as possible.
